Robin Preiss Glasser
6) Fancy Nancy
Nancy is utterly enchanted by Mrs. DeVine's fancy movie star memorabilia (that means things from the past). So enchanted, that Nancy decides to adapt the movie star lifestyle at home—and everybody knows that movie stars don't go to be early! Will Nancy's lack of beauty sleep get in the way of Mrs. DeVine's surprise the next day?
Nancy has been having a little trouble paying attention in class - but when it's time to get ready for the school's bake sale, she is all ears. With Mom's help, Nancy remembers to follow all of the directions for a delectable batch of cupcakes... except for one very important detail!
Paris, France, is the fanciest city in the world. When Ms. Glass tells the class that the new student is from Paris, Nancy cannot believe her luck. Nancy brushes up on her fanciest French words. She is ready to make a new ami. (In French that means friend.) But Robert would rather talk about horses than the Eiffel Tower. Robert may not be as fancy as Nancy, but that doesn't mean they can't have fun!
